2011
What a fantastic holiday retreat! We spent a wonderful week here in golden October. The website doesn’t do the place justice – then again it is probably difficult to capture in pictures or descriptions what it offers: being surrounded by vast amounts of woodlands/forest, meadows and valleys, loads of space, not a car in sight, all you hear is mother nature. The gite and grounds offer everything you could wish for when holidaying with (young) children, we could not name one thing that was missing. You almost don’t want to tell anybody about this so you’d always get a place if you’d want to
. Thanks for making this such an enjoyable family holiday!
- Katrin, Robert and Matteo (11 months) La Girolle October 2011
We have had a wonderful two weeks staying at La Girolle. It being Isaac’s first proper holiday it could have been quite stressful/interesting(!) But everything you provide has made things so straightforward and we’ve all had a fantastic and relaxing holiday. In addition to the more practical items you provide (cot, high chair etc) your attention to detail elsewhere makes a real difference–bath toys, child carrier, well lined curtains–all very much appreciated by us, in particular the quality of everything. Isaac has had a great time and loved Koffie in particular. Thank you for everything–as well as a lovely family holiday Adrian and I have had a great honeymoon
- Jo, Adrian and Isaac (14 months) La Girolle September 2011
What a wonderful place! We have had a really relaxing time here – tranquil and peaceful. Our 4 grandchildren had the best of times – so much room and activities to keep them happy! We have enjoyed some wonderful restaurants, Bistros and other eatieries. We can recommend: 1. Bistro 2 at Monpazier; 2. Hotel Bellevue’s Brasserie at Puy L’Eveque; 3. La Recreation at Les Arques where we had a fabulous meal with our family to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This was made possible by a super babysitting service! Thank you Sophia and Greg for your warm welcome and for the bottle of “Pol Carson” in the fridge; it was very much appreciated.
- Sandra and Rob La Luciole August 2011
Thank you for another wonderful fortnight spent at La Dolce! The boys have loved Parc en Ciel, canoeing down the Dordogne and the lake/slides/diving platform at Montaigue de Quercy. We are going home exhausted, but relaxed! Thank you for everything.
- Mark, Sarah, Harry (8) and Archie (6) La Luciole August 2011
- Alexander, Manon, Berdien & Clasine La Sauterelle juli 2011

A big thanks for such a wonderful holiday accommodation in such a beautiful setting and area. We were short of nothing and the children have loved having so much freedom to explore and adventure. They loved the games room and woodland adventure/play area, and have been amazed how much wildlife they have seen. Highlights/places to visit: Sarlat, Bonaguil castle, Marqueyssac gardens, Prayssac market on Friday, Monpazier [more details in guest book in gite]. Thanks, we hope to return soon. Jamie, Claire, Amelia and Imogen. What a wonderful week we’ve had here! The kids have had so much fun exploring and this week have seen: black kites, salamander, bats, snake, hummingbird moth, deer, mouse, praying mantis, wild strawberries, woodpecker. There’s a lot to do in the Sarlat area, so head off early (more details in guest book in gite). Thank you to Greg, Sophia and Sebastian and also to our neighbours whose kids played happily with ours.
- Claire, Ian, Charlie and Freya La Sauterelle June 2011
We’ve had a wonderful week – thank you very much! Loved the beautiful setting and encounters with nature – especially the salamander! – but also a hare, deer, red squirrel and persistent cuckoo (heard, not seen). Oh yes, and a terrapin! Great trips to Domme (excellent stalactite caves), Castelnaud and Marqueyssac gardens. Restaurant at Goujounac perfect – relaxed but special. Hope to come back!
- Anne, Roli, and Ben (aged 7) La Luciole -May/June 2011
Just a little note to say thank you so much for the wonderful, peaceful and relaxing week we’ve had here. Our cottage had everything you could possibly need which made our holiday totally hassle free. Every detail was so thoughtful – from the children’s cutlery + bath toys to the terrace sun loungers + bbq! Our little baby loved his first time in a pool so much that it was hard work getting him out of it! On the plus side however, he slept like a log after the pool which gave mum & dad some well earned peace on their own. In the evening time we put baby Finn into the “backpack” you supplied and all three of us went off exploring the woods, which we thoroughly enjoyed! We also have to mention our evening meals out in the “Hostellerie de Goujounac” – excellent food and very friendly people. Great recommendation. We hope to see you soon.
- James, Maritta and Baby Finn (8 months) La Girolle May 2011 (honeymoon)
We have had a fantastic week staying in the very comfortable gite La Sauterelle. The children enjoyed playing outside and made the most of the good weather we enjoyed. Our baby was well catered for – thank you for the small touches such as bath toys and baby bath chair which were much enjoyed. We enjoyed visiting Parc en Ciel. The children really enjoyed the various circuits and zip lines. We also had a lovely afternoon fishing at St Martin le Redon. Thank you again for a fabulous holiday. Thank you for a fantastic week at Domaine de la Dolce, we have very much enjoyed our stay with you – it has felt like a real home from home for us. We are two young families with babies (Ria aged 11 months and Henry aged 5 months). Right from our initial enquiry about the gites through to the stay itself Sophia was amazingly kind and helpful. We had a long list of items we needed for our babies (from bottle warmers to Bumbo seats) and the gite has everything and more! For the first night Sophia kindly stocked our fridge with some requested items wich were an absolute godsend when we arrived, tired and weary from our journey at 9 pm. Some of our highlights:
- Monpazier: lovely picturesque bastide town. Bistro 2 was good for lunch.
- Puy L’Eveque: fantastic creperie by the river
- Prayssac: Friday market is great! Lovely local foods
- Treatments from Karen: she really helped us relax and get rid of the shoulder tension caused by carrying a small baby!
We will definitely be recommending this as a place to stay for other young families. Thanks again for a great holiday – we hope to see you again in the future!
- Laurie, Nikki, Henry; Nick, Lucy and Ria La Sauterelle September 2010
We have all had a fantastic holiday at La Dolce. La Luciole has been perfect for us, very conveniently located next to the fabulous playroom and play area. James and Megan have had a wonderful time playing with the other children while we relaxed with a glass of wine and a book. We would definitely recommend you to friends and family. Karen also was well worth booking for a back massage; it was wonderful. Hope we can come back next year!
- Ally, David, Megan (2) and James (6) – La Luciole August 2010
Thank you for another fantastic holiday. This is our second time staying here with our three children. We have thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks here. Some of our best memories have included:
- The children from all the gites happily playing with one another and Sebastian in the pool, in the play area and in the grass – which also allowed us parents to sit and enjoy the sun with a few good books!
- Canoeing on the Lot and Floiras campsite near Prayssac. The Lot has no current and you are able to canoe for long – it was our first time doing something like this, and we all had fun taking a two- and three-seater kayak out;
- The evening market at Loubejac was fantastic. We shared a meal with the family in the gite next door;a fantastic village community experience with great food, wine and atmosphere. [more ihighlights in guest book in gite];
- Gilly had a great pedicure from Karen the beautician in the gite and it felt like she was walking on air for the next couple of days.
You have a great holiday destination here, and we wish you continued success – we hope to visit again soon.
- James, Gilly, Ellie, Nat and Billy – La Sauterelle August 2010
Thank you all for our third fantastic stay here!! All our favourite activities, markets and swimming in the pool! Must stop going to Monpazier – it’s getting too expensive!! Karen’s massage and pedicure were fantastic!! Mike and Fiona. Thank you for a fantastic holiday, we’ve all enjoyed it!! Love, Olivia (10). We have had lots of fun and swimming in the pool. There have been lots of changes and we have seen lots of deer right outside the house and up the way where the road is. From Joshua (7)
Mike, Fiona, Olivia and Joshua – La Girolle July/August 2010
Things our family have especially enjoyed in the last seven days at La Dolce: 1. The castle at Bonaguil; 2. La Ginguette at Grezels; 3. Local producers market on Friday at Montcabrier; 4. Cheese. And wine; 5. Everything else. Our holiday at La Dolce has been unquestionably the best family holiday we have ever had. Holidays with young children are often hard work, but everything at La Dolce has been considered with young families in mind; from the games room, kids TV, the salt-filtered pool (salt! Glorious, no chlorine smells for days after!) to the fact that they can run about in the fresh air while you sip a drink on your patio! It’s all wonderful. Thank you very much to Sophia, Greg and Sebastian. We would recommend this to anyone!
- Kevin, Karen, Thomas (6) and Olivia (3) – La Luciole late June/early July 2010
This was our second time here here after first coming two years ago. It is the only time we have ever stayed at the same place more than once, which speaks volumes about how much we all love it here. Thanks to Sophia and Greg for creating such a wonderful holiday destination. We are sure to be back in the near future.
- Tim, Kirsty, Jamie(6), Luke (3), Daniel (1) – La Sauterelle July 2010
Thank you for two very happy weeks at La Dolce. La Girolle has the perfect set up for families with small (and bigger!) children and we greatly appreciate the attention to detail you have put in to ensure the gites and La Dolce generally is the most child-friendly place we have stayed to date. Max and Molly have loved playing in the shaded outside playground and in the cool, spacious playroom, which had so many toys. We have all enjoyed swimming in the lovely pool and running around the meadow. Ian and I have appreciated how safe La Dolce is for the children to wander around and explore and how spotless and well furnished La Girolle is. We will take away many happy memories of relaxing on the terrace watching the children play happily around the meadow. The surrounding area has plenty to offer too. We have had fun at Chateau Bonaguil, wandered along the river and around Puy L’Eveque and Villefranche, thought Monpazier was simply stunning and loved our drive though the Dordogne on the day we went to meet friends in Bergerac. We look forward to a return visit. Many thanks,
- Rebecca, Ian, Maxwell (3) and Molly (18 months) – La Girolle June 2010
Alles is hier aanwezig.

A wonderful two weeks – our 4 year old girl and 15 months old boy had great fun – often with the simple things like picking wild flowers, chasing butterflies, playing in the woodland playground. The adults were happy too – rested, stress-free with all the child-friendly touches we could have asked for. Greg and Sophia are warm, welcoming and very helpful, while allowing guests freedom to enjoy the property. And Sebastian is a lovely boy who entertained our 4 year old girl who asked for him each day. We had many highlights; the many visits for fresh bread, pastries and treats at various boulangeries and patisseries in the nearby villages. We had a number of nice lunches in: Hostellerie de Goujounac, Bistro 2 in Monpazier, L’Orangerie in Sarlat and Hotel Bellevue in Puy L’Eveque. We had a lot of great trips. Monpazier, Chateau Biron, Chateau Bonaguil (just 15 mins away); chateaus of Castelanaud/Feynac/Beynac, Jardins de Marqueyssac [lots of further sightseeing info given in guestbook in the gite]. We tried the local wines from: Chateau Lamartine – nice rose; Domaine de Cause – 100% Malbec is nice. The Malbecs are big wines but well made. Just a flavour of things to do. All in all, we would hope to return again.

- Maarten, Nathalie, Lieve en Stijn - La Sauterelle May 2010
Merci pour tout – “will be back soon!”.

2009
La Luciole was perfect as was our holiday here with Greg, Sophia and Sebastian! There really wasn’t anything that wasn’t provided for The layout is fantastic – it was so great to be able to see our girls (age 5) running around outside at night with the other children while we could enjoy a nice dinner on our patio! Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!
- Deborah, Simon, Molly (5), Lilly (5) – La Luciole August 2009
We’ve had a fantastic week, the days have blurred into one. We have to admit that we have barely left La Dolce except to shop for food. The pool is wonderful, the fellow guests good company – the children have loved playing with all the other children and Sebastian in the woods, or making fairy houses in the field. And I have wandered up the lanes with Milo in his pram at his nap times, collecting acorns. The apartment has totally exceeded our expectations; luxurious, spacious and homely. It would be hard to imagine a more lovely retreat. The care and thought you put into it all is evident everywhere. Thanks so much! We’ll have idyllic memories of our holidays here.
- Kate, Simon, Ella (6), Lucy (4) and Milo (2) – La Girolle – late August 2009
We don’t want to go home, we love it here! Harry (6) and Archie (4). Thanks for a wonderful family holiday and for sharing your piece of paradice with us! We have all adored it.
- Mark, Sarah, Harry (6) and Archie (4) – La Luciole August 2009
Many thanks to Sophia and Greg – we have had a wonderful holiday. The accommodation and surroundings have been perfect for our young family – Alexander (5), Sophia (3) and Juliette (1). There has been something for all of us to enjoy – Nick and I loved visiting the local vineyards – Martine at Domaine de Cause, the lovely older couple at Domaine de Buis, and Chateau Chambert was beautiful. We have enjoyed the local markets too, especially Puy L’Eveque and Prayssac. The kids loved the evening markets and they liked being up late and dancing to the music! So many beautiful villages and towns to visit also – Villefranche du Perigord, Monpazier, Cahors and of course Sarlat! The kids have enjoyed the freedom to run around and play with other children. They have loved going in the pool every day and their confidence in swimming has sky rocketed. Alexander loved visiting Bonaguil – looking for knights and dungeons! Sophia and Alexander also had fun in the labyrinth at Les Jardins de Marqeyssac – and looking for the playgrounds too. And as for Juliette, well she has learnt how to stand up this holiday! She managed to crawl all the way to the end of the field, down to the logs. Nick and I also managed a couple of “grown-up” nights out, thanks to our babysitter Carol – who was lovely. We loved La Recreation in Les Arques – beautiful sitting and very good food and wine. We will definitely recommend La Dolce to our friends and hope to visit again one day. Thank you.
- Anne, Nick, Alexander (5), Sophia (3) & Juliette (1) – La Sauterelle – August 2009
We have had a lovely time, you have very beautiful houses. Needless to say, Millie has adored the pool and everything else – and Domaine de la Dolce will always be remembered as the place where she “learnt” to swim without armbands. Many thanks for your kind hospitality!
- Sue, David & Millie(4) – La Girolle August 2009
Thank you for such a lovely week – this has to be one of the most child-friendly places we’ve ever been to: everything has been considered from their point of view as well as the adults (in much need of a break!). The hardest part of the week has been getting them into the car to leave. The castles around here are every 4-year old boy’s dream and all your info was great. Thank you.
- Helen, Ben, Charlie (4) & Madeleine (18 months) – La Luciole July 2009
Super bedankt!
- Sven, Evy, Amelyne (6) & Maite (4) – La Luciole July 2009
We’ve all had a fantastic 10 days here and wish we were staying longer. At La Luciole holidays with a 2.5 year old and a 6-month old can be fun and relaxing. We’d love to come back. We particularly loved and recommend the Hostellerie at Goujounac.
- Angela, Ian, Ellie(2.5) and John (6 months) – La Luciole June 2009
We would like to thank you for the most fantastic family holiday so far. You have made everything perfect, and have provided the most amazing help and advice when needed. Ava really, really enjoyed the extensive activities available here – the swing has been a great hit! We feel thoroughly relaxed and refreshed. To wake up every morning to fresh air and fresh bread has been a real treat. The gite has exceeded our expectation, everything has been so well thought out, our every need has been catered for. We have particularly enjoyed the walks you suggested and some of the restaurants, in no particular order La Guinguette and Hostellerie de Goujounac were great value and lovely experiences. Le 14 in Prayssac also made Ava feel very welcome despite the lack of a high chair. We have visited most markets, Cazals and Monpazier stand out. For wine-tasting we really enjoyed Domaine de Cause – Sarlat was also a lovely day out. We hope to be see you again very soon!
- Sarah, James and Ava (14 months) - La Girolle June 2009
We didn’t quite believe it, but it does exist after all: stylish, small scale, highly comfortable holiday accomodation with a truly authentic feel. And at the same time a paradise for children, without overdoing it. Yes, there is a great little playground, but it’s hidden in the shaded woods. And yes, there is the cozy and well stocked play area, but it’s located in a lovely cool room, equally nice for parents to hang out in and read a book. And then there’s just acres of beautiful fields to walk or run around in, providing wonderful views from the terraces. La Girolle has everything you could wish for, and it oozes the care and attention to detail that Sophia and Greg put into it. This is a true gem, which we actually are reluctant to share with anyone. But that would be selfish, so: whether you have children or not, a holiday location doesn’t get much better than this. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything!
- Corliz, Luco, Bente (4) & Reimer (1) – La Girolle June 2009
- Richard, Rosien en Koen (1,5) – La Luciole May/June 2009
Staying at La Dolce has to me redefined what it’s like to be on a holiday with a young child and really HAVE a holiday! Staying at La Dolce was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to parents who want to spend a holiday in France and want that both they and their little ones be happy. Every single thing at La Dolce has been thought through. The gite is spacious and well appointed, with a shower and a bath, a wide comfortable bed, good quality pillows, duvets and linens, and a well stocked kitchen with every imaginable dish and device (including a dishwasher), and an outside BBQ! Another great thing is the availability of all kinds of baby/child equipment and paraphernalia so you don’t need to bring anything from home. There is a playroom full of toys and books, and the house is stocked with practical things a child needs, from cots and high chairs, to potties and Tupperware. The grounds at La Dolce are not just beautiful but very child-friendly with lots of space for the kids to run around and still be within parents’ eyesight. Sasha is a fan of swings, so we spent countless hours at the playground (which also has a slide and a sandpit) and there is even a heated pool! So to sum up, everything you need is there, so you just spend quality time with your precious ones and enjoy yourself! And there is even a babysitting service on offer if you want to have some “adults only” time. And the beautiful region has so much on offer! Within an hour’s radius there are chateaux, medieval villages, vineyards, markets and many fantastic restaurants to choose from! We probably spent 1/2 time exploring and 1/2 time relaxing, and among the things we enjoyed the most are: Monpazier, Monflanquin and Pujols (beautiful well preserved medieval villages, listed among France’s “Les Plus Beaux Villages”, Cahor’s Valentré bridge, Chateau de Biron and Chateau de Bonaguil. We came home relaxed and recharged, and without a doubt will plan to come back to La Dolce as soon as we can!

2008
Lovely autumn holiday! La Luciole has been a delight to stay in, and ideal for our family (2 adults and a 2- year old). What is more, we’ve all enjoyed the grounds and facilities. Thomas has been kept pleasurably busy with the wonderful games room and adored the slide and the rest of the playground. Mum and dad also appreciated table tennis and chess! We’ve all been spoiled by the delights of the Montcabrier boulangerie for breakfast each morning. We’ve really enjoyed exploring the Lot and Dordogne. Had a great day in Sarlat, but probably enjoyed pleasures closer to home even more – markets in Puy l’Eveque and Prayssac, Chateau Bonaguil and delightful walks (with toddler backpack – thank you!) close to the gite. Wine tasting at Chateau Chambert was fun – even for non-drinkers, as it was such a beautiful place! La Recreation was a real treat – good value for the excellent food, and surprisingly easy with a toddler. We’d certainly recommend coming here to friends and family, and would love to return (perhaps in Summer for a swim in your beautiful pool!).
- Chris, Cathy and Thomas (2) – La Luciole September/October 2008
Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Domaine de la Dolce is a haven for both parents and toddlers. Our 18 months old “livewire” little boy has thoroughly enjoyed himself in the grounds and toy room. The beautiful setting along with the well-equipped and more than comfortable gite have meant for a very relaxing week. The farmers’ markets and fresh bread deliveries were wonderful too. For families with young children we would recommend “La Terrasse Riviere”, Puy L’Eveque. We would certainly love to stay at La Dolce in the future.
- Stephen, Alison & Harry (18 months) – La Girolle September 2008
Thank you for a fabulous fortnight. Our oldest, Millie (3), doesn’t want to go home! The girls loved the toy room, the pool and the climbing towers and we have enjoyed watching them run free and explore with new friends. We could not have asked for more from our holiday here. Thanks again!
- Chris, Lauren, Millie and Layla – La Sauterelle September 2008
Thank you for a wonderful stay at Domaine de la Dolce. This is an idyllic setting. The gites are very well appointed, well equipped and comfortable, with everything designed to make our holiday easy, peaceful and relaxing. Our two-year old daughter had a “ball” and had plenty to amuse her, from the land to run about in to the play area with sandpit, swings etc, to the lovely pool, and not forgetting, the playroom, which was a bonus when the weather was not so good. The surrounding countryside and villages offered many opportunities to explore and we enjoyed the many markets, chateaux and vineyards. Finally, we can’t express how appreciative we are for our hosts’ attentiveness and hospitality, even to the extent of helping us with a problem with our hire car! We shall definitely recommend Domaine de la Dolce to others, wihtout hesitation. It is particularly suitable for those with young children, and those with a love for good bread from the local bakery! Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay for longer.
- Helen, Robert and Daisy – La Girolle September 2008
La Dolce was everything we’d hoped for . . . and more. La Luciole was very comfortable accommodation, beautifully maintained with everything we needed. Ten nights stay has not been enough! The surroundings are simply beautiful and the layout perfect. Louis (2.5 yrs) has had the time of his life exploring and he loved the freedom. We enjoyed a fabulous meal at La Recreation and Sarlat and Domme were our favourite towns. We hope to be back!
- Hannah, Jason and Louis – La Luciole August/September 2008
We have had a fantastic week break in La Sauterelle and wish we were staying longer! Our three children have loved swimming in the pool, playing football and running around in the games room. We have visited chateau de Bonaguil which was very interesting and we enjoyed wondering through the village. We also had a lovely evening at the Loubejac market where we ate wonderful food and the children could all run around! Thank you Greg and Sophia for a lovely welcome and thanks to Sebastian who has kept Ellie, Nat and Billie entertained! Thanks for everyhting,
- Gilly, James, Ellie (11), Nat (9) and Billy (5) – La Sauterelle August 2008
We’ve had a faboulous time, many thanks. With five children aged 5 and under (yes – bonkers) we have been exceptionally well catered for. With 5 happy little people we had big people time too, which has been great. And superb weather! Many thanks,
- the Jones and Collis families – La Sauterelle July 2008
Thanks for another fabulous holiday. The children loved being in the pool every day and Mike and I have really enjoyed the evening markets at this time of year – Fiona. Thank you again for another relaxing, friendly and welcoming stay at La Dolce. The recommendations or markets, wine, restaurants etc are all excellent. We hope to be coming back soon! – Mike. I have enjoyed my stay in La Girolle because of all the nice people here. I have also enjoyed playing with Sebastian – Olivia (9).

We (family of four with children 2.5 and 3.5 yrs) agree with everone before us. This has been one of the best holidays ever. We recommend Bistro 2 in Monpazier and (. . . ) Best of all however was the care and joy that Sophia and Greg showed for their gites. Thank you very much for everything. Going home now is the same as leaving home
. If all goes well we’ll definitely visit La Dolce again.

We have had a fantastic holiday and loved the peaceful surroundings. Very nice gite and excellent for a stay with small children. Saartje (2.5) and Maarten (1.5) loved being here and enjoyed playing with all the toys and especially liked the playground. Thanks for the lovely accommodation and friendly hospitality.

What a fantastic holiday!! Thank you so much. The gite was really comfy and had everything we needed and a bit more. We all really loved the games room. Matthew and I enjoyed the table tennis and table football – I think the girls enjoyed it too! Seriously, with a baby and toddler there was something for everyone. But most of all thank you for being so friendly and thoughtful. Our only regret is that we aren’t staying two weeks. Hope to see you again next year.

We have had a lovely time here. The cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Elliot has had a ball being able to run around freely and safely in the extensive grounds. The playground is great. We would like to thank Sophia, Greg and Sebastian for making our stay a very enjoyable one!

What a fantastic two weeks! La Sauterelle has meant that we have had a fab base to come back to, and the children have loved the games room, the freedom to roam in the woods and playing with Sebastian. Absolutely everything we have needed has been here – thank you. We have had such a lovely time at La Dolce, it will definitely be one of those holidays to go down in family history!

We had a great time staying in La Luciole and visiting the area. The gite is fantastic – clean, furnished very nicely with comfortable beds and easy cooking facilities. The kids’ playroom and playground were great for our 2-year old who kept wanting to go down the slide and run around the grounds. A lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into the gite facilities and we really appreciate it. To sum up; a really enjoyable holiday. We will come again and recommend you to friends.

Onze complimenten!

Fantastic place – beautiful location, lots to see and do and very baby friendly. Thank you for all the baby toys and other items, absolutely invaluable and made flying with an 8-month old possible! Great to have info on what restaurants are baby friendly too, very useful. General info also excellent. We look forward to coming back with our extended family soon! We wish you all the best for the future. Warm regards,

Thank you Sophia, Greg and Sebastian for a wonderful holiday. All you had promosed beforehand came true; even more! We all enjoyed the cottage and its lovely surroundings. The favourite activity of our kids was going to and fro the games cottage, followed by a plunge in the swimming pool in the afternoon – though they all lacked a swimming diploma. Hopefully we will be able to visit La Dolce again!

We have all enjoyed the holiday! The accommodation is excellent – everything is provided. The beds are good, great patio, we wanted for nothing. Our kids are 13 and 9 and they loved it – the pool is great (the website doesn’t do it justice). The information was spot on and allowed us to get more out of our holiday. We’d strongly recommend Domaine de la Dolce to our friends back home. We wish you every success for the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in La Sauterelle. The grounds were like an adventure playground to Cormac, who really loved the slide and sandpit. Rory enjoyed escaping to the coolness of the playroom and the large selection of toys. Your guide was very useful, particularly the section on restaurants. Our two week stay has been action packed and we had a smashing time! Thanks for everything.

Thanks Greg and Sophia for a wonderful and relaxing stay which is normally hard to say with a toddler! Louis has enjoyed himself immensely, there have been so many distractions here for him at your wonderful place! The toys, books and DVDs have been a godsend. We had two great days out in Sarlat and Cahors, and equally loved the local villages, particularly Prayssac which has many restaurants to choose from – we had a lovely meal at La Table de Venus. We also tried the new pizzeria in Condat – great value for money and large tasty pizzas! We couldn’t cover it all in one week so would love to come back in the not too distant future. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality – it is so refreshing to feel so welcome with a little one in tow! Kindest regards,
- Claire, Andy and Louis – La Sauterelle June 2007
Our two weeks in La Sauterelle have been wonderful!! We are going home feeling totally relaxed and with fond memories or a tranquil place that is also a haven for children. We have visited Bonaguil castle which both Eleanor and Eliza aged 4 and 2 really enjoyed. We had three lovely meals out at Romulus, La Recreation and La Ginguette and have visited several of the recommended markets, all of which were good. We had a lovely day out in Sarlat, lots of great shops, an abundance of restaurants and a good market. Sebastian has been a lovely friend for Eleanor, and Greg and Sophia have made us feel totally at home and ensure that you have everything you need for a very enjoyable stay. Thank you so much, we hope to be back and will certainly be recommending this special place to all of our friends.

Thank you so much for making our holiday in France such a success despite unseasonably dreadful weather! We all had a great time. Thanks to your fantastically stocked games room the boys played table tennis, chess, table football and I don’t know how many other games which kept them amused during all those rainy days. The gite was the most comfortable we have ever stayed in. Brilliantly stocked and tastefully decorated. The folder of information was excellent and we particularly enjoyed Romulus! You made our stay so enjoyable by being friendly, helpful and available, we really appreciated it! The breakfast run was a great treat. I am sure you will go from strength to strength and we hope to see you again. With very best wishes and thanks,

Thank you for such a warm, welcoming and friendly holiday. The cottage was lovely and had absolutely everything we needed and we know now that you have everything we need once “Bump” is born. We look forward to seeing you again with our new family. All the best,

Thank you both so much for the wonderful holiday we had in Montcabrier. We relaxed completely and felt very at home in the surroundings. We would not hesitate to recommend you to our friends as we thought the cottages were beautifully furnished and the grounds and facilities top-rate. We wish you every success for the future.

We have had a wonderfully relaxing two weeks at Domaine de la Dolce. Montcabrier is a lovely bastide village, superb baker, great views and a wonderful evening market – but get there early for a seat! A special thanks to Greg, Sophia and Sebastian. Thank you for providing such lovely accommodation, facilities, pool, play area and space. Thank you for all your helpful and thoughtful emails before we arrived. Thank you for morning bread deliveries and thank you to Luisa for babysitting while we had an excellent evening at La Recreation in Les Arques.
- Rosemary, Malcolm, Catriona, Alasdair and Emma, La Luciole August 2006
Thank you very, very much for making our stay with you so special. Janette and Gordon just loved being with their whole family and it was a most successful week. Your property was perfect. The shaded play area, the private pool and peaceful location. You have put a lot of thought into all the properties and they were fitted out to a VERY high standard. The little thoughtful extras like the bread in the mornings and arranging Rosie the chef were all very much appreciated. You certainly live in paradise. There is something to do here for everyone between 0 and 90! Once again VERY MANY THANKS for making our stay so fabulous.
- Debbie, Calum, Iona and Isla, July 2006 (rented all three cottages for a family reunion).
Thank you for a lovely week! Lovely gite in a lovely area. We have all enjoyed ourselves very much. Thank you for being such great hosts.
